Join local community leaders from Minnesota and Wisconsin for an educational workshop and networking event aboard the Taylor’s Falls Princess. This year’s St. Croix River Workshops on the Water will focus on:

  1. Economic Value of Clean Lakes and Rivers (Presenter: Mae Davenport, Professor at University of Minnesota and Director of the Center for Changing Landscapes)

  2. Vanishing Shorelines & Importance of Shoreland Rules (Presenters: Mike Wenholz, Wisconsin DNR and Matt Baumann, Minnesota DNR)

  3. North & South Center Lakes Success Story: Panel discussion with Q & A. Learn how local partners in Chisago County collaborated to improve water quality and “de-list” North & South Center Lakes. (Featuring Casey Thiel, Chisago SWCD; Ben Elfelt, Chisago LID; and Nancy Moe-Mergens, Center Lakes Association.)

There will also be ample time to enjoy the river and talk with other local leaders from the region.

This signature event is specifically designed for local community leaders, including city council members, county commissioners, watershed district and SWCD supervisors, lake and river association board members, and members of planning commissions and citizen advisory committees.

Hosted by the East Metro Water Resource Education Program, Lower St. Croix Watershed Partnership, National Park Service, Minnesota DNR, Wisconsin DNR, Wild Rivers Conservancy of the St. Croix and Namekagon, Carnelian-Marine-St. Croix Watershed District, Chisago SWCD, Isanti SWCD, Middle St. Croix WMO, Polk County, St. Croix County, and Washington County.
