NEMO - for local elected officials

EMWREP hosts workshops, tours, and other educational events for local elected officials from cities, townships, counties, and watershed management organizations.

Water consortium

The Washington Water Consortium offers professional networking, collaboration, and educational presentations for local officials, staff from local and state agencies, and engaged citizens from nonprofits and other community groups.

The group meets the first Wednesday of each month from 2-4pm. Currently, meetings are being held via Zoom.

Turf Maintenance training

MN Pollution Control Agency offers a 4-hour training for municipal staff, groundskeepers, and private lawn care professionals.

Participants learn best practices for turf management including, equipment calibration, how to properly select and apply pesticides and fertilizers, irrigation best practices, and mowing techniques.

MPCA also offers training videos and a print resources.

Stormwater U - For Municipal staff and contractors

EMWREP collaborates with University of MN and others to host stormwater workshops for local professionals.

Watershed Partners

Watershed Partners is a collaborative of 75+ organizations working to educate and engage the public to reduce stormwater pollution in the Twin Cities metro area.

The group is hosted in partnership with Hamline University and manages the Clean Water Minnesota outreach campaign, as well as the Adopt a Drain program.

Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month from 9-11am. Currently, meetings are being held via Zoom.

smart salting training

MPCA also offers training and certification programs for winter snow and ice management. There are separate courses for property managers, private contractors that clear parking lots and sidewalks, and public works staff that clear roads.

MS4 Toolkit

EMWREP has worked with the MN Pollution Control Agency to create a toolkit with educational materials to help MS4 entities meet their permit requirements.

The toolkit includes materials for public outreach and education, as well as training videos for municipal staff.

There are also education resources available in Spanish, Somali, and Hmong.
