Black Chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa)
A small tree or shrub with a medium growth rate and reaches a mature height of 4-8 ft. This small tree or shrub prefers full sun and prefers moist to wet soils, has white flowers in early spring, edible blackish/purple berries that ripen in early fall, good for jams and jellies, has a purplish/red fall color, and provides food and cover for wildlife. Black Chokeberry can grow as a small tree or as a large shrub; large colonies can form due to root suckers. Sold in a bundle of 25 bare root seedlings, 12-18" tall.
