The St. Croix WOW offers a unique opportunity for community leaders to network, access support from state and local government, and learn about issues such as sustainable community development, preventing harmful algal blooms, community forestry, healthy shorelines, and St. Croix Watershed resources and connections.
The workshop is designed for city councils, planning commissions, township boards, county commissioners, SWCD and watershed board members, and other local leaders.
This year’s workshop will include keynote talks from Matt Poppleton, Wild Rivers Conservancy of the St. Croix and Namekagon; Nate Toering, National Park Service; and Jen Kader, Clean Water Council, as well as five learning stations with mini-presentations.
Participants will also enjoy dinner, beautiful views of the river, and plenty of time for conversations and networking.
Workshop hosts include: East Metro Water Education Program. Lower St. Croix Watershed Partnership, Minnesota DNR, Wisconsin DNR, Chisago, Polk and Washington Counties, National Park Service, and Wild Rivers Conservancy.
