Since 2003, Kent and his wife, Linda, have raised dairy and beef cattle, hogs, and chickens on their homestead in Wing River Township, Wadena County. He works as a Livestock & Grazing Specialist with the MN Sustainable Farming Association.

Mary Jo grew up in the Lower St. Croix watershed and is a certified Conservation Planner through the Natural Resources Conservation Service. She works with rural landowners in Anoka, Chisago, Isanti, Pine and Washington Counties.
