  • Hugo City Hall 14669 Fitzgerald Avenue North Hugo, MN, 55038 United States (map)

Rice Creek Watershed District will host a FREE Level II Smart Salting Training on Wednesday, April 19th, 2017. The workshop will be held from 8:30am – 1:00pm at the Hugo City Hall in the Oneka Room (14669 Fitzgerald Avenue North in Hugo, MN).

This training provides an opportunity for public works managers, supervisors, superintendents and other lead staff to review their current best management practices and salt use for possible savings. Participants are asked to bring a laptop to the training.

Winter Maintenance Assessment tool (WMAt)
Each attendee will be using the Winter Maintenance Assessment tool (WMAt) to focus on issues that apply to their salting practices and future plans. Tool outputs are individualized based on attendee current and future practices. The class allows time to use this effective tool.
Participants will learn how to use the WMAt and how to use reports in budget planning and for communication with public officials or others who provide funding for the maintenance work.

Level II Organizational Certification
Participants will also work towards submitting their Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) Smart Salting Level II Certification: Winter Maintenance Assessment tool. You can find out more about this at the MPCA website.

TO REGISTER contact Beth Carreño at Rice Creek Watershed District at bcarreno@ricecreek.org or 763-398-3088. Refreshments & lunch will be provided.

This workshop is sponsored by the Rice Creek Watershed District, funded by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and taught by Fortin Consulting, INC.
