Adapting to a Changing World

  • North Branch Senior Center 38790 6th Avenue North Branch, MN, 55056 United States (map)

As you have no doubt noticed, MN weather patterns, growing seasons, and average temps have changed over the last few years, along with shifts in biodiversity, nitrogen availability and carbon dioxide levels. These changes impact not just our trees and gardens, but MN’s biomes and natural ecosystems. CCESR is home to one of the world’s longest-running studies on global change and plant communities, and is learning new information every year to help people prepare for the future. Caitlin will cover the basics of global change in Minnesota and its real and potential impacts on our native plant communities, and share recent findings from research conducted at CCESR.
