Elderberry (Sambucus canadensis)

$40.00

A shrub with a fast growth rate and reaches a mature height of 5-12 ft. This shrub prefers full sun and moist soils, has white flowers in the summer, has edible dark purple berries, works well in windbreaks, and provides food (favorite of songbirds) and cover for wildlife. The berries work well for jam, jelly, and wine. Elderberry can form large colonies due to root suckers. Sold in a bundle of 25 bare root seedlings, 12-18" tall.
