EDUCATION FOR CITY STAFF AND CONTRACTORS

We all want clean lakes and drinking water, but navigating the ins and outs of stormwater permits and pollution control laws can be frustrating. The Washington Conservation District has educational programs to help city staff and their contract employees stop stormwater pollution at the source, and we're available to help you meet the requirements of your SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program).

MS4 Toolkits

With a grant from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, we are currently working to develop an education toolkit with materials for cities and watersheds throughout Minnesota to use when conducting stormwater education. Many effective educational tools exist already, although we also recognize the need to develop new materials for certain topics and audiences. The goal of this project is to compile new and existing educational materials in an easy to use format, create new tools when needed, and make these tools available on-line and as hard-copies for MS4 entities to use. The toolkits will be completed in May 2009.
