Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District

The Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District (RWMWD) is a special purpose governmental unit responsible for protecting the water resources of the watershed, located in the eastern portion of Ramsey County and the western edge of Washington County. RWMWD covers approximately 56 square miles that ultimately drain into the Mississippi River.

Planting for Clean Water

RWMWD offers cost-share grants for native plantings, raingardens and native shoreline plantings in addition to other projects that protect and improve water and natural resources within the watershed. The maximum grant amount for residential projects is $2,500.00; the commercial and government project limit is $30,000.00. Funds are a reimbursement of 75% match for materials and labor.
