Pastures and Livestock

Whether you are operating a multi-generation farm or are just learning to care for your horses at your own brand-new place, the Washington Conservation District has the resources to assist you. Managing the manure and mud around the farm and in your pastures is critical to maintaining the healthy water resources that we all enjoy in the County. Not only does proper management protect our resources, but it can also reduce the work associated with raising animals.

If you are a farmer, horse owner, or are just thinking about getting a few chickens; our rural lands and agricultural conservation assistance programs may be right for you. Financial and technical assistance are available to farmers and agricultural producers in the county through our own programs as well as our partnerships with other agencies and organizations.
