Landfall The Comfort Lake - Forest Lake Watershed District (CLFLWD) encompasses roughly 47 square miles in northern Washington County and southern Chisago County, including the Cities of Chisago City, Forest Lake, Scandia, and Wyoming. The watershed outlets to the northwest to the Sunrise River, which flows northeast through Chisago County before discharging to the St. Croix River.

Planting for Clean Water

CLFLWD offers cost-share grants up to $3000 for projects that improve water quality and/or decrease stormwater runoff and preserve native plant and wildlife communities affected by lakes, rivers and wetlands. Potential projects include shoreline and streambank restoration/stabilization, raingardens and erosion control projects. Highest priority is given to collaborative projects and those with opportunities for public education. Learn about past projects that have received funding.
